Parent Access Setup and Questions (for School Accounts)

If your student has a DreamBox account through their school, it includes a Family Dashboard that parents and guardians can log in to so they can monitor the student's progress. To use the Family Dashboard, you must first set up parent access by following the steps below.

First, the student must sign into their account using their school's unique web address (URL) on a computer or their school's login code on an iPad through our DreamBox Math Green or Blue app. A Parent Invitation Letter may have been issued to the student with the unique URL and code, information on accessing their account from home, and instructions to set up parent access. The student's username and password will be the same as the information they use in class.

AnchorWHAT IF MY STUDENT FORGOT THEIR USERNAME AND PASSWORD?

In order to protect student privacy, we at DreamBox do not have access to share a student's login information. Please contact your school or your student's teacher directly to request their username and password.

AnchorACCESSING THE STUDENT ACCOUNT FROM A COMPUTER

To start, launch a web browser (we recommend Google Chrome) on your computer and enter in the unique web address (URL) provided by the school.



Be sure to type the web address in your web browser’s Address Bar. Typing this into a search engine (Google, Yahoo, Bing), will only provide search results and not the school's DreamBox website.
 
 
Once you have accessed the school's login page, have the student select their classroom name or, if prompted, enter their username and password.

ACCESSING THE STUDENT ACCOUNT FROM AN IPAD

After you have downloaded the app, the next step is to sign in using your school code. Tap the DreamBox Math Blue or DreamBox Math Green app to launch DreamBox. From the Welcome screen, tap SCHOOL to start setting up access.
 


Type in the school code and tap PLAY.
 


You will see a list of classrooms at your student's school, click your student's classroom name to continue.
 


Depending on how your student accesses DreamBox at school, you will either be presented with a list of student names for picture password access, or you will see two boxes asking for your student's username and password.
 
NOTE: Once you have entered in the school code, you will not need to enter it in again unless you delete and redownload the DreamBox Math apps.

AnchorHOW TO SET UP PARENT ACCESS

NOTE: Setting up parent access can only be done when the student is logged in on a computer. You will not see the option to set up parent access if the student is logged in on an iPad.

After the student has logged in and their DreamBox session has started, click the link to the bottom-right of the DreamBox window that says "Set up parent access". Click the EXIT button on the pop-up window and then follow the online instructions to set up a new Family Dashboard account.

 
 
If you already have a Family Dashboard, such as through another student, a home subscription, or a free trial in the past, make sure you select "I am a current customer" while setting up parent access. You can view multiple students on one Family Dashboard.

AnchorNO PARENT ACCESS LINK AVAILABLE

If you do not see the "Set up parent access" link, please make sure you are logging in to the student's DreamBox account on a computer and not on the iPad, as this option will not appear on the iPad.
 
If parent access has already been set up on the student's account, you will not see the link. Please contact DreamBox Learning Client Success at support@dreambox.com for assistance linking the correct email address in this scenario.

AnchorLINKING A SECOND STUDENT TO YOUR ACCOUNT

You can link a second student to your Family Dashboard using the same process detailed above. Be sure to select "I am a current customer" so that you can use the same Family Dashboard. 

Repeat these steps for every student you'd like to link to your Family Dashboard.

AnchorSTUDENT NAME ALREADY EXISTS FROM A TRIAL

If a trial account was linked to your Family Dashboard previously and is preventing you from linking the current student account, you will need to change the information on the trial account. Log in to the trial account and open Account Settings from the top-right drop-down menu on the Family Dashboard, then select Student Information.

Locate the student's name from the trial account and click Edit Student Information. We suggest adding "old" to the beginning of the student's name and clicking Save to keep the new name.

You will now be able to add the current student account to your Family Dashboard. Be sure to select "I am a current customer".
